Master of Development Practice at UC Berkeley
Anna Mann is a first generation American, born and raised in Washington, DC. She served in the US Army from 1996-2004 as a Civil Military Special Operator, including tours in Bosnia and Iraq. Anna is a graduate of NC State University with a degree in Plant Genetics. She is the owner-operator of Chestnut Ridge Farm LLC, a diverse, sustainable family farm in North Carolina’s foothills.
Anna joined Kelly Carlisle and the other members of the Women Farmer Veteran Network in 2011. When the VA offered her the opportunity to attend graduate school, she immediately chose the East Bay in order to work more closely with Kelly and with other Veteran Service Organizations in the area. She is a proud Fellow with The Mission Continues, volunteering at The Veterans Yoga Project, and is currently attending UC Berkeley to obtain her Masters degree. Her focus is on food justice and agricultural development in the US, especially in Urban Areas. She lives in the East Bay with her husband and her two children.
