Khiaecia Key, Board Co-Chair
Khiaecia Key’s work in Food Justice began 7 years ago when she volunteered at a food pantry in Brooklyn. She realized that while she was helping to provide a much needed, immediate solution to food access issues she wanted to broaden her scope of work to address the actual root causes of the problems.
Less than a year later, she would find herself apprenticing on a farm in Georgia. Not only did her experience at the farm provide her with practical knowledge of small-scale organic farming but she also came to understand how empowering and even healing it can be to know how to grow one’s food.
Ms. Key is an entrepreneur in the Photography and E-Commerce industries and a resident of Oakland. She is honored to serve on Acta Non Verba’s Executive Board as Board Co-Chair.
