Program Associate & Executive Assistant
Reyna Yagi is a native of the East Bay and completed her undergraduate at UC Davis. Her initial work focused on water quality and conservation issues in mountain communities in California and Colorado. She worked on the ground-level helping instruct communities and businesses on sustainable urban landscaping practices. Reyna has a diverse outreach and education experience, working directly with the public to help them understand how our upstream natural resources are impacted by our downstream needs. She has especially enjoyed instructing youth and will be assisting with camping and backpacking trips with Camp ANV.
After becoming involved in the urban farming scene in Colorado, she transitioned her focus to edible landscapes and obtained her Masters in Food Security in the UK. There she grew a passion for urban agriculture and conducted her research across 40 different urban farm sites in England. She also currently serves as Co-Chair of the Urban Ag Work Group on the Oakland Food Policy Council. Upon returning to the Bay Area, Reyna hopes to continue to promote urban agriculture and sustainable food policy in Oakland.
