Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project is excited to offer the Junior Farmers (Jr. Farmers) Program, which engages 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in the science, art, and business of urban farming and ecological enterprises.  Each age group/grade will focus on different developmental aspects throughout the school year and summer and receive cash to deposit in individual bank accounts for educational use and stipends to go shopping for school supplies and clothes.*

6th graders will begin/continue to learn the basics of growing healthy crops, sustainable farm practices, plant medicine, food systems and nutrition. 7th graders will learn about farm and other ecological enterprises, self-determination, social and environmental justice, farm management and issues in cooperative labor. By year three (8th grade) Jr. Farmers will learn how to develop, co-own and operate their own business/social enterprise.
