Acta Non Verba’s Mission Statement
Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project’s (ANV) mission is to elevate life for youth and their families in Oakland and beyond by challenging oppressive dynamics and environments through urban farming and access to the natural environment.
Our Vision for a Future Paradise

A child tastes a just-harvested strawberry for the first time. A teen intern leads a tour of a thriving farm they helped build. A grandmother exchanges timebank hours for fresh produce grown by her neighbor’s child. A whole community gathers under a sunset sky to eat, dance, and celebrate their own abundance.
This is ANV’s Future Paradise. We build it every day through programs that are joyful, just, and radically rooted in community self-determination.
How We Do It
Urban Farms
We steward three urban farms—West Oakland Farm Park, ANV Farm @ Tassafaronga Park, and WOW Farm—where youth and community members grow culturally-relevant food, host events, and reconnect to the land.
Youth-Led Programs
From Camp ANV to our No Limit Leadership Program, we guide young people through nature-based learning, farm-to-table cooking, archery, arts, science, and wellness.
Community Supported Agriculture (BeetBox CSA)
We offer sliding-scale veggie shares—including EBT and Market Match—for families across Oakland and beyond.
The Résolute Café & Community Kitchen
Opening in late 2025, this youth-powered, community café will serve joy on every plate while providing culinary job training and small business incubation for emerging food entrepreneurs.
De La Corazón Archery Club
Oakland’s only BIPOC-led archery club—certified by USA Archery—invites youth and families to develop focus, discipline, and community through this ancient sport.
Time to Thrive Initiative
Through our Time Bank, families can earn up to 75% off programs by giving back to the community. Every hour volunteered = $21 toward CSA, Camp ANV, or Backyard Garden services. Because access is not a privilege; it’s a right.
What Makes Us Different
We invest 100% of our CSA profits into youth educational savings accounts. We are a solution, not a statistic. We don’t wait for policy to catch up. We build the world our children deserve—now.
Because we believe: Growing food is not controversial. BIPOC joy is not controversial. Creating a future paradise is not controversial.
