After-School Program Coordinator
De’Ana was born and raised from Stockton, California and moved to the Bay Area in 2016. She started being interested in food justice & environmental issues after being involved in a student led group MEChA at Humboldt State. Currently she attends Mills as an Ethnic Studies major concentrating on the connections between culture, the environment, and spirituality. As an activist & artist explores how connecting with traditional ways, and harmonizing with the environment, can be used for healing within the Black community. Volunteering at a local organization that supports Black farmers and being an apprentice at the Mills Community Farm during her sophomore year. Has inspired her to work with youth around art and sustainability. De’Ana has been working as a camp counselor for fall & spring camp and is excited to be working as an ASP coordinator for the school year.
