ASP Lead Counselor
Mallory, a recent college graduate from Long Beach, CA, is ANV’s new After School Program Lead Counselor. She is excited and joyful to be staying with ANV after serving as a camp counselor at Camp ANV this summer! Mallory grew up going to summer camp, so she deeply understands the power of connecting with nature and finding community as a young person. Her experiences as a kid at camp were so impactful that she made a promise to herself to one day become a counselor, to help foster similar joy and growth for others. In 2016, she made good on that promise, and has worked as a camp counselor for children and adults with disabilities every summer since!
Additionally, throughout her time in college, Mallory volunteered with her university’s local farm, Orange Home Grown, where she was able to support their CSA program and learn about the power of local food systems. She is excited to continue to explore this impactful work with ANV, which is a transformative reimagination of systems that lie at the intersection of food sovereignty and education.
In her free time, Mallory loves to cook and do ceramics! Cooking yummy meals and creating funky sculptures brings her a lot of creativity, healing, and fun! 🙂
