Meet our Beetbox CSA Assistant, Miguel Franco. Miguel is originally from Santa Cruz, recently graduated from CSUN (California State university Northridge) and now is living here in Oakland. Miguel first became involved with food justice based work when he was attending a continuation high school and participated in a farm internship during his senior year. This internship showed Miguel how food brought his community together and how farming in a communal way can be such a healing process for BIPOC communities. Miguel has now been involved with food justice based work for the past 6 years working with different community based organizations through farming, teaching workshops to youth, and helping run multiple CSA’s. Miguel will be helping with both the background work that goes on behind the CSA as well as helping with the weekly distributions. If you see him, say hello!
