Week Six/November 13th: Comfort Eye Pillows
Time: 1 hour
Intro: Eye Pillows can be used as a relaxation tool for stress and anxiety, also to help relieve eye pressure to help lower the heart rate, as well as help bring attention inward while in the preparation of sleep.
Main Activity:
Residents will make their own eye pillows in which they can use any time they feel anxious, depressed, stressed, at bedtime and or during yoga relaxation time.
Instructions:
Residents will pick their desired cloth
Fold and use adhesive in a mannered way to create rectangular pillow. Leave opening unsealed to allow room for filling
Apply damp cloth over eye pillow cloth, then place hot iron over it to seal
Fill half way up with rice, add 2-5 drops of essential oil, add handful of herbs(optional)
Use stitch witch and iron to seal the last opening
Let rest
**Be sure that all ends are completely sealed to avoid opening & spilling**
