Gardening
Learn how to grow your own food! Your child will plan, plant, harvest and sell tomatoes, carrots, greens, strawberries and more. 100% of proceeds from our produce sales are placed into savings accounts for children who attend at least 100 hours of camp this summer.
Cooking
Your child will come home with fresh produce AND know how to cook it. Your kids will have a ball smashing tomatoes and rolling dough as our amazing guest chefs help them plan and prepare lunch and snack menus for camp.
Camping
This summer, Camp ANV is excited to offer two 2-night sleepover camping trips. We’ll marvel at the heavens on ranger-led star walks, learn how to identify edible plants in the wild, and of course, enjoy spooky stories and S’mores by the campfire.
Field Trips
This year, we’ll frolic on the beach in Alameda, fly kites in Berkeley, and explore the spectacular California Academy of Sciences.
Swimming
When it’s time to cool off, we go to East Oakland Sports Center‘s pool to splash around and fly down the waterslide. Splashing in the pool, floating down the Lazy River and dodging the Water Dump is sure to keep your kid’s heart rate pumping!
Parent Testimonial
“The camp itself was beyond my expectations. My daughter would return home with stories about her adventures that were so fantastic, I began to think she may have been making them up, but she wasn’t! She went on field trips, swam, gardened, played violin, went to the movies, and best of all went to sleepover camp. When I asked what she liked the most, she told me she loved swimming and camping. This was no surprise to me because ANV assembled a great team that led to the creation of a community. I could go on and on about this wonderful camp. It was life changing for my daughter. I am so grateful to have been a part of this loving community the camp generated. We can’t wait to do it all over again next summer!” – Marissa P., “Khensani’s Mom”
